Class of 93 'To Dues' List

Hello fellow 93ers - time to talk money!

For those of you have already given, thanks so much. For those of you who haven't, now is the time.

Our 15th year reunion is next May and we need your support to make it memorable.
1) You can make an annual donation of $19.93
2) You can give $93.00 now to cover the next five years.

Either way, your support is critical to the overall success of our class and our reunions! Checks should be made payable to Smith College Class of 1993 and sent to Victoria Shaw Cronin, 31 Pondfield Rd. West #59, Bronxville, NY 10708.

As the treasurer for the next five years, I thought it would be good to address the questions about the infamous dues: What is the difference between class dues and alumnae fund donations?

  • Class dues are used to support the efforts of our class to stay in touch with one another as well as plan the reunions. During the early part of the officer term, they are used to fund communications such as newsletters and phone calls. At reunion time, they are used to supplement the fees, which we request from each reunion participant. This past year, we finally made some money so we can put it towards things like the website, more involved mailings, localized get-togethers, etc. Previously, we were just barely keeping our heads above water, so the treasury was used for necessities only.
  • Alumnae Fund donations are made directly in support of the college. This money is used to offset the cost of room and board as well as activities and in recent years the capital campaign to renovate the art building and build the campus center. The alumnae fund donations also go to support financial aid and in general increase Smith's overall endowment.
